I met Ella this past weekend, while I was at my friend Mike's performance. Ella devised this powerful piece while she was undergoing liver dialysis. She explained that the gun actually shot bile and that this was her homage to Quentin Tarantino! There is something so compelling about art that bridges the gap between the real and the imagined. Ella addresses personal adversity in a way that is refreshingly not solipsistic, but empowering. Luckily, she has made a great recovery after the dialysis.
